Great product to buy Creating eBooks with InDesign CS5.5 (by Three Publishers b.v.) :
Customer Review for this product :
Excellent for those struggling with ePubs -
Where Adobe's online Help documents fail to instruct (or are factually incorrect), this book is a godsend.
I was tearing my hair out trying to make an ePub with 5.5, and I read this book to solve my problems.
I have made a dozen ePubs in the past, using InDesign 5.0, but I had never used 5.5 to do it. The menus are different, some don't work, and the new Articles palette does almost nothing. I wish it controlled the creation of a functional Table of Contents, but all it does it define the order of export of your "articles" (chapters). That's not as valuable to me as Adobe insists it is.
It's easier to use InDesign's BOOK feature, and then export to ePub... (then fix the resulting book in Sigil, then convert it to MOBI using Calibre, then check it to specs with Sigil, then publish it). InDesign is not a panacea for ePubs.
This book made the process easier, and I like the section on how to do business with Amazon. That's worth the price alone.
Thank you for writing such a simple instructional book. It saved me and my project.
